Chapter 475 The Perfect Teammate I'm Looking For
Chapter 475 The Perfect Teammate I'm Looking For
Chen You looked down at the parchment, on which was a simple topographical map of the Kabing Caves.
"How do I get to the throne?" Chen You asked.
"You need a token." Hill pointed to a red dot on the map. "Once you enter the instance, don't go through the main entrance."
"Go around to the left and behind the icefall, there's a frozen secret compartment. Inside, you'll find... a love letter left by the Meng family's ancestor."
Chen You's lips twitched violently again.
love letter?!
Is this reasonable?
"And then what?" Chen You suppressed the urge to complain.
"Read this love letter aloud in front of the second brother, 'Frost Knight'." Hill said with the coldest expression, delivering the most outrageous hidden strategy.
"The Frost Knight was a fervent admirer of the Lady of Aurora City during his lifetime."
"Upon hearing the contents of the love letter, he would fall into a state of extreme anger and rage."
"Berserk? Wouldn't that be suicide?" Chen You glared.
"In berserk mode, the Frost Knight's attack power increases by 300%, but its defense power drops to zero." Hill looked at Chen You.
"With your damage output, if you can kill him before he can make a move, the violent energy that overflows after his death will blast open the entrance to the Frozen Throne."
Chen You stroked his chin, lost in thought.
This mechanism is practically tailor-made for cheaters like him who pursue ultimate burst damage.
"Wait a minute." Chen You tapped the table. "You just mentioned the Frozen Throne?"
"Doesn't this name sound a little too familiar? Do the systems in your Origin Realm usually like to play single-player games from Earth?"
Hill looked at him but didn't reply.
"Is there Arthas sitting on the throne with Frostmourne?" Chen You couldn't help but complain.
"Will some old man have to come out and shout, 'No monarchy lasts forever'?"
Hill looked puzzled: "Who is Arthas? A pawn abandoned by some god?"
"A filial son." Chen You waved his hand, speechless. "What's so special about the Frozen Throne?"
Hill placed his hands on the table, speaking calmly: "A crown—the Ice Crown."
Chen You's eyes twitched twice.
"And you still say it has nothing to do with Arthas?!"
"There is no Arthas in the Source Realm." Hill's cold tone interrupted Chen You's speculation. "Please don't use the inferior fantasy literature of your dimension to speculate on the true history of the Source Realm."
Chen You curled his lip.
"How do we carry this crown?"
"I can't take it." Hill gave a negative answer. "The Ice Crown is the embodiment of the curse."
"Any living being that touches it will be instantly corrupted by the divinity contained within the crown, its reason devoured, and it will be transformed into a new Ice King."
Chen You understood.
"So, this is the final boss?"
Hill nodded.
"The final step in the hidden mechanic is to defeat this newly born Ice King. Once the crown shatters, it will drop an item that triggers the hidden quest."
Hill looked into Chen You's eyes. "The problem is that someone has to voluntarily put on that crown and complete the transformation ritual before this hidden boss will appear."
Chen You stroked his chin.
In other words, you can't solo this hidden mode; you need to find a jerk teammate.
"Understood." Chen You stood up. "Is that hidden drop unique?"
"Yes." Hill's icy expression remained completely unchanged: "Once an adventurer obtains it, it will be completely removed from the drop list."
Chen You nodded and turned to leave the Supreme Tower.
Entrance to the Kabing Cave instance.
There are still several hundred players gathered here.
Chen You stood calmly at the edge, his gaze sweeping over the noisy crowd.
He doesn't need those with high combat power or good equipment.
He only needs one quality: great intelligence.
He was discovered very quickly.
"Holy crap! Who's that?!"
"Godfather! He's my godfather!"
The crowd erupted in cheers.
"Godfather! Take me with you! I'm a super fast runner!"
"I'm in the God of War group! My healing power is amazing!"
"Dude, I'd sell everything I own for a parking space!"
The players swarmed around.
Chen You remained expressionless, his gaze sweeping across the crowd.
He doesn't need high combat power.
He needs a fool who can put on that deadly crown without hesitation.
Chen You glanced at several guild elites with shrewd expressions and shook his head inwardly.
These people are too clever; they would hesitate upon seeing the crown, and might even suspect a trap.
Suddenly, his gaze stopped on a corner.
It was a berserker wearing tattered plate armor.
ID: "Long Aotian Bentian".
He was pointing at several solo players who couldn't find a team and loudly scolding them.
"Do you guys even know what skill is? This 'Berserk Strike followed by a Leap Slash' combo is something I figured out myself! As long as you gather the monsters together, one slash from me and the screen is wiped out!"
A priest nearby spoke up timidly, "But you couldn't even defeat the dire wolves at the gate..."
"That was a mistake!" Long Aotian retorted, "That wolf lacked sportsmanship and attacked my lower body!"
"Besides, this is a late-game class for me; I'm just lying low right now!"
Chen You walked over.
The crowd automatically parted to make way.
Long Aotian was spitting as he spoke, but when he saw Chen You approaching, he paused for a moment, then puffed out his chest: "What, God of Travel, you've taken a liking to my potential? Let me tell you, my appearance fee isn't low."
Chen You looked at him.
Poor equipment, extreme self-confidence, and lack of brainstem.
perfect.
"You're the one," Chen You said. "Join the crew."
The entire room fell silent.
The elite players who were just begging and pleading stared wide-eyed, their faces filled with disbelief.
"Seriously, buddy?" the priest couldn't help but ask. "He can't even beat a direwolf!"
"What I need is unique talent." Chen You said without changing his expression, and directly sent a team invitation to Long Aotian.
Long Aotian glanced around smugly and pressed the "agree" button heavily.
"You know your stuff. So, how do you want me to cooperate? Let me make it clear first, I won't do the dirty or hard work; I'll only be responsible for the final harvest."
"Okay." Chen You nodded.
Amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd, the two stepped into the portal to the Kabing Cave.
Shift of gaze.
A biting cold wind, mixed with ice crystals, rushed towards us.
Before your eyes is a huge ice and snow cave, with sharp icicles hanging overhead.
Not far ahead, several enormous frost ghouls were wandering aimlessly.
Long Aotian drew his rusty greatsword from his back and struck what he considered a cool pose.
"Leave them to me," he sneered. "Watch me take them down with one combo."
Chen You grabbed his shoulder.
"No need to fight." Chen You pointed to a hidden ice crack on the left. "Let's go this way."
Long Aotian frowned: "Running away from battle? That's not the style of a strong person. Are you scared?"
Chen You didn't bother to explain and simply strode towards the crack.
Long Aotian quickly followed up, "That's right, conserving our strength to deal with the BOSS is the best strategy."
"As expected of a master, your tactical thinking is barely keeping up with mine."
