Chapter 2379 - 2355: Trust
Gao Yang and Justin talked for a long time, gathering information about the combat specialties of each mercenary group and recording them in detail. Thus, their phone call lasted over an hour before finally ending.
Why did Saudi Arabia suddenly start using mercenaries on a large scale? Because Saudi Arabia has money, and the situation in several nearby countries is increasingly worsening. Whether to intervene in other countries or prevent chaos from spreading to Saudi Arabia, a large number of people are needed to accomplish it.
Saudi Arabia has people, but Saudi Arabia is afraid of casualties. In underground warfare, losing a few lives is normal, but if too many die, Saudi Arabia can’t bear it. So, seemingly high-priced but effective and cost-efficient mercenaries became the inevitable choice.
The choice was initially a small-scale effort; Saudi Arabia also chose some small mercenary corps. But if the war escalates, Saudi Arabia will inevitably seek a suitable large company to replace the initial small-scale operations.
What Gao Yang needs to do is make the Solar System Company competitive against other companies. Although the Cicero Family has joined in, it is not enough.
Neither Deyang International, Armored Group, nor Three-leaf Jungle would offend the Cicero Family. Just as Satan completed a counterattack against the Cicero Family, helping Justin turn the tide, but if there were an option to avoid it, Satan wouldn’t offend the Cicero Family either.
Satan, which is easy to hide and has been hiding well, also wouldn’t offend the Cicero Family. Those large companies certainly wouldn’t dare either. Though large and powerful, their size makes them a large target. Engaging in unseen and intangible warfare with the Cicero Family is unbearable for any large company, at minimum, it’s not worth it.
But merely having the Cicero Family isn’t enough. Gao Yang can’t truly split the Solar System Company in half for the Cicero Family; otherwise, the Cicero Family wouldn’t pay a hefty price for the Solar System Company.
Thus, Gao Yang needs another strong ally.
After ending the conversation with Justin, Gao Yang called Grand Ivan.
"I want to invite you to invest in the Solar System Company. You don’t need to pay the principal, but you’ll need to provide free weapons and cover twenty percent of the operational costs in Yemen for this, and you’ll get a twenty-percent share."
Without hesitation, Grand Ivan said, "Who else is in?"
"The Cicero Family and Morgan, they together hold thirty percent of the shares."
Grand Ivan paused momentarily, then said in a deep voice, "Actually, inviting me in doesn’t benefit you much; it might bring big trouble. You know my relationship with America, even though it’s peaceful now, it’s only a ceasefire period and not true peace."
Gao Yang sighed, saying, "There are indeed some troubles, but I still want to invite you in. After all, we’re already on the same boat, and I’m not afraid of the relationship deepening."
Grand Ivan said slowly, "My only requirement is that I also want to contribute twenty percent manpower, maybe more or less, but you must tolerate me assigning people to the company."
Gao Yang didn’t immediately agree; he furrowed his brows considering it. Then, Grand Ivan explained.
"If I want to maintain a sizable group specialized in combat, they’re useless in peacetime, and too few when genuinely needed. Being an arms dealer, maintaining strong military power is wasteful and unnecessary. But there are times I need a sufficiently strong force. After all, temporarily hiring some mercenaries isn’t reliable. I struggled to find Black Demon and asked them to work for me, but once you appeared, Black Demon severed ties with me without hesitation and sided with you. You know what I’ve recently been through, so you understand me, right?"
Gao Yang, instinctively, said: "I think I understand your point."
Grand Ivan calmly said, "If I place enough personnel in your company, paying them isn’t wasteful. They might even earn money for me. I assure you these people will absolutely follow your orders in the company; I have no intention to manage them. But I’ll pay them directly without going through you. Only this way can I guarantee they remain my most reliable force when needed. Do you agree?"
Gao Yang laughed, "You mean to pay your people from your twenty percent profit from the company, right?"
"Yes."
Gao Yang exhaled deeply, laughing, "Then I agree."
Grand Ivan also laughed, "Great, then we’ve solved the main part. I agree to invest, hold twenty percent shares, provide you with weapons and cover initial operational costs. You quote the cost, and I’ll provide because I trust you. Meanwhile, I’ll deploy enough people to you. Uriyangko will handle the specific matters."
Gao Yang was briefly stunned, saying, "I thought it would be Ivan."
Grand Ivan paused momentarily, then slowly said, "Ivan will inherit my entire empire, but Uriyangko, I still need to repay his former loyalty."
Gao Yang was utterly shocked. His comment was instinctive, casually said, but he didn’t expect Grand Ivan would reveal such crucial information, indicating Ivan will indeed inherit Grand Ivan’s Arms Empire.
Without hearing Gao Yang’s response, Grand Ivan continued in a deep voice, "Besides, Uriyangko already manages Africa and Asia, making his involvement in your company more appropriate."
Gao Yang took a deep breath, saying, "Alright, it’s settled then. You’d better send someone to America to handle the equity transfer procedures. Since we aim for a large company, everything should be formal. You surely have someone suitable for this. I won’t say more."
Grand Ivan laughed, "Uriyangko will send someone; I’ve already said this business is his gift. Anything else?"
"No, that’s all."
Negotiations with Grand Ivan couldn’t be called negotiations. With just a few words, they secured a significant deal that typically required prolonged talks because it profoundly impacts the Underworld’s balance.
Grand Ivan crossed the line from merely arms dealing to stepping into the PMC field. It’s significant. But Grand Ivan did it as if casually because joining the Solar System Company is beneficial enough — a win-win result. Most importantly, Grand Ivan trusts Gao Yang.
After ending the call with Grand Ivan, Gao Yang made the final call to Morgan.
Once Morgan answered, Gao Yang casually said, "Morgan, do you want to invest in Solar System Company? I can offer twenty percent shares."
"Sure, twenty percent of shares then."
