She took the initiative to give a kiss, and her mood instantly improved a lot.Alexander looked forward to Saturday, waiting eagerly.
Just thinking about going out with Asher Land made Alexander incredibly excited.
"Mommy, I’m so happy to go on a picnic with Daddy." Alexander lifted his little head eagerly and said to Sophie Smith.
"As long as you’re happy," Sophie thought for a while and continued, "If you like it, I could often ask your dad to join you in the future?"
"Yes," Alexander nodded emphatically.
Meanwhile, Asher had already prepared their things, and Sophie held Alexander as they got into the car.
"Where are we going?" Asher had been planning everything, and Sophie didn’t even know the destination of this outing.
"You’ll find out when we get there." Asher teased her, driving towards the destination.
Sophie didn’t ask much else, chatting happily with Alexander in the back seat. She lost track of time as the car finally stopped, awakening her from her reverie. She rolled down the window, looking at the beautiful scenery outside, and was suddenly astonished.
"Why did we come here?" Staring at the surroundings, Sophie’s eyes were full of surprise.
"Mommy, have you been here before?"
Through the rearview mirror, Asher glanced at Sophie, seeing the astonishment on her face; he knew she must have thought of certain memories.
"This is kind of like revisiting old haunts. Oh, do you... want to relive the old dreams?" Asher’s tone was suggestive, and Sophie’s face flushed instantly...
They had been to this place five years ago.
Sophie remembered when her leg was injured, Asher decided to bring her here for a picnic to help her relax. Accompanying them were Irene Morton, Robert Williams, and Nanny Garcia, but later, Irene had to leave because she got her period, returning with Nanny Garcia and Robert Williams. She spent a day and night here with Asher, and then the picnic turned into an intimate moment outdoors.
So when Asher spoke suggestively, Sophie recalled those moments camping outside with him that night. It was definitely unforgettable for her.
"Mommy, what’s wrong?" Alexander couldn’t help but shake her arm, seeing her somewhat dazed expression beside him. "You came here with Daddy before? Was it fun here?" Alexander asked, full of curiosity.
"No... it’s not fun."
"Are you sure?" Asher chuckled softly, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth. "It seems like that night I didn’t make you enjoy it fully. Tonight I’ll make it unforgettable for you, so much so that you’ll want to come back again." He spoke with implied meaning.
"Asher Land, that’s enough! We won’t be sleeping here tonight, there are too many mosquitoes, I’m worried it won’t be good for Alexander."
There aren’t that many mosquitoes right now; it’s just an excuse she’s making. She’s genuinely afraid Asher might want to ’relive old dreams’ with her; last time was already ’unforgettable’ enough, wasn’t it? What else could he want?
Sophie took Alexander off the car, breathing the fresh, pleasant air of the countryside, feeling completely refreshed.
She stood in front of the babbling stream, facing lush mountains, clear water, and green grass, stretching with satisfaction, and seeing her contentment, Asher standing behind her felt quite sentimental too...
Five years ago, five years later, how many things happened in between, he couldn’t count, but thankfully she was still by his side.
