Chapter 9: The Mysterious Male Guest Makes a Stunning Appearance
Chapter 9: The Mysterious Male Guest Makes a Stunning Appearance
Agent Starling stepped out of the car, and surprisingly, she had a knowing smile on her face.
"We've found a lead, a real lead!"
She walked quickly to Titus, excitedly wanting to hug him, but immediately realized it was inappropriate and hesitated for a moment, slowly retracting the step she had just taken.
At this moment, Titus raised his hand.
Starling understood and gave him a high five.
"Well done, partner!"
"You too, partner!"
Things have become simpler now; the two men called the police to take over the scene.
Just ten minutes later, Titus heard a loud screech of tires; he knew it was from the vehicle suddenly stopping.
He thought they were police officers, but when he looked up, he saw a woman wearing earrings and makeup, holding a microphone, followed by a man carrying a camera. The group strode over.
Reporters? The TV station was faster than the police?
At the same time, the same thought popped into Titus's and Starling's minds:
Protect the crime scene!
Ms. Jonita had been closely following Chicago Police broadcasts, so her news team arrived at the Skopje mini-warehouse ahead of the patrol cars.
She has a keen sense of smell, like a mantis dog that has caught the scent of blood; her intuition tells her that there is an exclusive scoop here.
Jonita jogged over. "Hello, this is WWC News from Chicago. I heard there's been a murder here."
Starling blocked Joe's path. "We're the FBI. We've already notified the Chicago police, so..."
Starling noticed a male reporter carrying a camera as he crawled into the warehouse.
"Hey! You can't go in! I'm talking to you!"
Just as she was about to go over, Titus came out of the warehouse, bumped into the male reporter, and dragged him out.
Jonita said, "Calm down, friends! We're experts. Don't mess things up, right? We know all this. Don't worry, we'll just look and won't do anything wrong."
As if in response to her words, the two male reporters nodded and smiled at Titanus as they walked toward the warehouse. "She's right, we're professionals."
"Stop! We're on a case, and I don't care if you're professionals or not."
Titus pushed the two professional guys forward, holding up his credentials to show them.
"FBL investigation! This is the final warning!"
As they were talking, the male reporter rushed inside, but Titus reacted quickly, grabbed him, and threw him out.
Seeing her men injured, Jonita shouted at Titus:
"What are you doing! I paid them to come here. Do you know how much manpower, resources, and money it cost us to make this trip?"
Titus replied:
"I've said it before, this is the last warning."
"But if the police come, they might not even tell us how many bodies are inside."
"Do you know what this means? For this trip, there are ten of us. If each of us is delayed by just one minute, that's ten minutes. Now calculate how much time you've wasted for everyone?"
"What?"
"I don't care, I'm going in. If you dare touch me, I'll..."
In response, Tetus calmly pulled out pepper spray.
"Aaaaaaah!"
The scene was in complete chaos!
Jonita fell to the ground, and Starling tackled one of them, while holding a jack and aiming it at the other.
Titus shouted:
"This is the last warning. I don't care if you're experts or not!"
"Everyone back off!"
Suddenly, Titus felt a flash of bright light, as if someone had fired a shot from a high place, but he couldn't see clearly.
……
That midnight, the underground dance bars in Chicago's South Side were brightly lit and bustling.
Singing, clinking glasses, the sound of young bodies rubbing against fabric.
Fiona swayed in the middle of the dance floor, holding a half-empty glass of whiskey on the rocks, while a man in black on a high platform leisurely selected his prey.
This is a dazzling hunting ground where everyone tries their best to show off their charm, like peacocks displaying their tail feathers in courtship, with hormones pushed to their peak by alcohol.
Suddenly, Fiona felt her waist loosen; her handbag was gone. She turned around sharply and saw a man in a hat grab her bag and run away.
"Thief! Thief!"
"Xiao Wei, my bag!"
Veronica, Fiona's neighbor, and Fiona's neighbor, met up at a bar to relax. Little did they expect to encounter this situation before seeing any handsome men.
The two squeezed through the crowd and gave chase, but the thief was clearly a repeat offender, agile and slippery like an eel, disappearing from sight in an instant.
Add to that the damn DJ music, and almost no one heard Fiona's roar; anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was singing her heart out.
Several bold boys ran up to Fiona and asked if they could call her Wild Baby and invite her to their homes.
This fueled her nameless rage, and she cursed, "Fuck!"
Unexpectedly, the boy was even happier, as if he had been rewarded. He asked her if she could do it again. Fiona didn't have time to pay attention to this idiot blocking her way and chased after him.
What Fiona didn't know was that the man in black on the high platform had seen everything clearly.
The mysterious male guest placed his vodka steadily on the narrow railing. The lights, music, flowers, and beautiful women were all ready; it was time for the male protagonist to leave the stage.
"Baby, I'm coming!"
The man gracefully and swiftly bypassed the crowd, like a black panther sprinting through the jungle, leaping over the railing and slipping sideways through the gaps in the crowded throng.
He wanted the DJ's music, which would resonate throughout the underground bar, to become his exclusive background music, all for this cliché drama of anger for love.
Instead of chasing after him, he flanked from the side and blocked his path.
This brilliant idea made the man feel like he hadn't wasted his time watching 007 spy movies, because he now had tactical-level thinking!
Now, our '007' has seized a golden opportunity!
007 speeds towards the thief!
The boys and girls sang and danced, and the chorus on stage ended, bringing the atmosphere to a climax. Strippers showed off their figures, pushing the atmosphere to its peak!
It's right in front of us!
Make sure your pose is cool!
The man suddenly burst out from the crowd to the side of the thief and made a stylish leap!
But suddenly, he realized he had made a mistake! A fatal mistake! He had devised a perfect interception plan, designed moves comparable to those in a Hollywood blockbuster, but overestimated his own speed!
He desperately reached out to hook it, but the sound of dignity and self-respect slipping through his fingers was like the wind.
The thief was one step ahead of him; they missed each other.
The man lunged at nothing and fell to the ground!
The waiter was knocked down by a thief, and gin, lemon, and ice fell from above, soaking the man.
And then, some guy's change fell to the ground with a clatter, hitting him on the head and making him ache.
He heard the clatter of high heels; it was Fiona stepping over him.
So urgent and resolute.
At this moment, our thief was sweating profusely. After bumping into the waiter, he noticed something touch the hem of his clothes, but he didn't have time to turn around and look.
It's probably something insignificant, he thought. The most important thing now is to get out of here as soon as possible!
"Get out of my way!"
He ran wildly, and people on the street scrambled to get out of his way, afraid of getting into trouble.
Suddenly, a man stood quietly in front of him, as if he hadn't heard his shouts.
The thief pulled out a fruit knife, his face fierce!
The man leisurely pulled off the black leather gloves he wore during the mission, and the streetlights illuminated his mountain-like figure.
