Chapter 34 Mo, you two?
Chapter 34 Mo, you two?
The next morning, Jiang Jingshu was sitting at the dining table, eating breakfast and chatting with the elderly man, when she heard a noise coming from the stairs. The father and daughter turned to look at the noise at the same time.
What caught their eye was Kang Woo-jin, tall and imposing in a tailored suit. The suit itself wasn't the main point, as they were attending a formal occasion; what drew their attention was...
Is this kid overdressed today?
Jiang Jingshu stared at Jiang Youzhen in surprise, and asked with some astonishment, "Youzhen, besides coming to my place today, is there anything else good happening? It's just an opening ceremony, not a red carpet event, and... did you even dress up specially? This perfume, this ring..."
"What's wrong? I think it looks great. It's a custom-made Tom Ford three-piece two-button suit, and the Oscar commemorative brooch my dad gave me last year."
After showing off his clothes and physique, Jiang Youzhen sniffed himself and grinned, "How is it, Grandpa, Mom? I look pretty good, right?"
Jiang Jingshu didn't answer the question. Instead, she looked at the old man and saw that he also looked frightened. She couldn't help but laugh and said, "Do you have a date today? You look like a male peacock, all dressed up."
"What male peacock? I'm dressed very properly."
Jiang Youzhen immediately stopped, complaining, "Isn't this how you dress for formal occasions? I just wore extra perfume today. Also, I don't have a date; I just wanted to help you out."
help?
Jiang Jingshu felt that her new company didn't need him, a male peacock, as its mascot, but this strange behavior reminded her of New Year's Eve.
When the old man sat down to eat at Jiang Youzhen's table, he asked several questions in a low voice. He was very concerned about whether his grandson had a girlfriend.
The old man was somewhat disappointed when he heard Jiang Youzhen say no.
After breakfast, Kang Woo-jin picked up the keys to his black Range Rover. The reason he chose to drive himself was because he had talked to Kim Tae-yeon, and she said she had prepared a farewell gift for him, which made him very excited.
Of course, he wouldn't let Jiang Jingshu know about this good thing, which is why he drove out by himself.
The studio's new location is in a great spot. Apexjeong is a relatively important financial district in Seoul. As soon as you get off the elevator, you can see a wall of collage posters, all of which are works that the studio has worked on before.
There were quite a few people here today, almost all of them were directors and representatives from media companies I've worked with, as well as people from several TV stations and artists, most of them actors.
As Jiang Youzhen walked into the company gate and stepped out of the elevator, he saw a group of colorfully dressed celebrities standing there. He smiled awkwardly and greeted them politely as he entered the office area.
"Why are you so late?" Jiang Jingshu asked as she walked over when she saw him.
"I went to buy some things, it's not too late, is it?" Jiang Youzhen explained in a low voice, while raising his hand to look at his watch.
It's still a little past nine o'clock, which is still quite early.
Jiang Jingshu shook her head and led him to the center of the venue. However, Jiang Youzhen was too shy to stand with her on the temporary podium.
He took a bouquet of flowers from a company employee and then watched his mother give a triumphant opening speech.
Noticing that everyone in the venue was connected to the entertainment industry, he suddenly heard someone next to him softly calling his name.
He subconsciously turned his head and saw that it was Jiang Jingshu's secretary. He then leaned in and whispered in her ear.
"Kang Woo-jin, after the director finishes speaking, please go and present the flowers. There are many reporters below, so please keep smiling."
"...Okay, I will."
As expected, paparazzi were everywhere at this event, which didn't surprise Kang Woo-jin at all.
After Jiang Jingshu finished recounting a series of future plans and expressions of gratitude, the speech was considered over. Jiang Youzhen, holding flowers, strode onto the makeshift stage, presenting the flowers and giving his mother a warm hug.
The flashbulbs never stopped, and Jiang Jingshu heard many people praising how outstanding her son was, which made her smile even brighter.
After the simple opening ceremony, there was time for chatting and strolling around. After receiving business cards from many agencies and artists, Kang Woo-jin made an excuse and went downstairs.
Seoul is full of cafes and fast food restaurants. There's one downstairs from my new studio, and a gym next door. They're all doing great business, with customers at all times.
Jiang Youzhen habitually went in to check the menu. The coffee tasted pretty much the same, the only difference was the amount of ice. Thinking that he would come often in the future, he simply got a membership card and put a lot of money on it.
The coffee shop staff were all young people. When they saw Jiang Youzhen, they were quite happy and came over to ask if he wanted to take a photo with them. Jiang Youzhen readily agreed. He knew this was a benefit of the drama's promotion, and his popularity was soaring.
"Please order for me: one iced Americano, less ice, no sugar, and also a blueberry mousse and orange juice, please pack it up, thank you."
After paying, Jiang Youzhen glanced across the street and stopped in his tracks. He saw several girls coming out of the SM Entertainment building, walking onto the zebra crossing, and then walking around to the entrance of this coffee shop.
One of them was Kim Tae-yeon. Judging from their sportswear, they seemed to have just finished practicing.
There weren't many customers in the coffee shop, and since Kang Woo-jin was standing outside the cashier's counter, Kim Tae-yeon naturally saw him too. Perhaps she hadn't expected Kang Woo-jin to be dressed so formally today, and she was momentarily stunned.
On the contrary, her companions recognized Jiang Youzhen at a glance, and were surprised and happy at the same time.
"A Hollywood veteran?"
"Huh? It really is! Wow, you look really handsome today."
"This is a coffee shop, not a red carpet."
"He looked this way, girls... watch your expressions!"
Kang Woo-jin pretended not to hear their whispers, waved to them with a smile as a greeting, then walked up to Kim Tae-yeon and said with a smile, "Tae-yeon, we meet again."
As Kang Woo-jin approached, Kim Tae-yeon gave an awkward grin and whispered, "Mmm..." As she spoke, she glanced at her companions.
If it were just her and Jiang Youzhen in private, she wouldn't mind Jiang Youzhen suddenly getting so close, but there were other people around, especially since they were right across from the company.
She didn't dare to make any move at all, and even hid behind Kwon Yuri, while not forgetting to wink at Kang Woo-jin.
However... her best friends all looked like they'd seen a ghost, especially Kwon Yuri, whom she'd used as a shield. Kwon Yuri immediately pulled her out, a playful smile on her face, and asked, "Hey, what's going on? Your relationship is definitely not ordinary. Confess!"
Kim Tae-yeon glanced at her companions' reactions with a slight blush, then looked at Kang Woo-jin with a resentful gaze, as if to say, "Can't you understand what I mean?"
