Chapter 1087: A Little Worried
Chapter 1087: A Little Worried
"The people in there are very dangerous." Mia Cole tried to persuade her, "Miss Wilson is a girl after all...""Relax. Those people will only open their mouths for Sophie." Kai Bright smiled, the meaning behind it hard to miss.
He had never met the old Sophie, but he’d heard plenty from Charles Seymour.
He also wanted to see for himself what his sister was capable of.
Half an hour later, Sophie Wilson sauntered out from inside, all leisurely, slipped her arm through Charles Seymour’s with a bright smile, and said, "All done, let’s go."
"Alright." Charles Seymour gave Jason Cole a brief nod, then left just like that with Sophie Wilson.
Mia Cole turned her head, looked at Jason Cole, and asked, "Bro, those people... will they really talk?"
"Let’s go in and see." Jason Cole didn’t say much more; he’d better go in and ask about the situation first.
Once Jason Cole went in, the people inside immediately handed over the written confession.
Jason Cole read through it quickly, his expression shifting several times.
"Bro, how is it?" Mia Cole pressed.
"They confessed." Jason Cole said.
Mia Cole: "..."
Sophie Wilson actually got it out of them?
——
"I really didn’t expect these small fry to still be so stubborn, still wanting to traffic drugs back into the country. What are they thinking?" Sophie Wilson asked from the passenger seat, rubbing her aching head.
"Fast money." Charles Seymour said. "Back then, when that illegal company got dismantled, those few who slipped through the net didn’t manage to grab much."
"Even if they did grab something, they’d still keep taking risks." Sophie Wilson let out a derisive laugh. Thinking of the people from that illegal company, she couldn’t help a cold sneer. "Once you’re used to windfall profits, you expect them to start earning money honestly again? That’s basically killing them."
"Luckily we took care of these guys so fast. Otherwise, if they’d managed to open up that route, it’d be a headache." Sophie Wilson thought of what those people had said and felt a surge of anger. They’d actually wanted to grab Lucy as leverage to force her uncle to open the door wide for them.
What the hell were they thinking?
"But I’m a bit worried." Sophie Wilson pouted slightly. "Tell me, with that hideout they just gave up, can the people from the training camp actually find it?"
The people from the illegal company might not have had any other skills, but they were all like loaches—impossibly slippery.
"They’re just small fry. If the team still can’t catch them, they might as well go back to basic training." Charles Seymour snorted.
They already had the confession. If they still couldn’t arrest anyone, that squad’s professionalism was pathetic.
"Let’s not worry about them. It’s got nothing to do with us anyway." Sophie Wilson shrugged easily. Back then they’d made things very clear: she’d go in as an insider, and all the terms had been negotiated. She’d paid what she was supposed to pay, and when it came to taking what was rightfully hers, she was never going to show mercy to herself.
"As for this whole thing..." Sophie Wilson’s eyes went cold. "Hayley Cole did play a certain role in it."
"Those guys overheard at the bar that Hayley Cole wanted to find someone to rough up Lucy Wells, and that’s when they got the idea. If they could, they’d use it to threaten my uncle; if not, they’d take the chance to threaten Chairman Cole instead. They planned to claim they were hired by Hayley Cole." Sophie Wilson snorted.
"What did you do?" Charles Seymour focused on driving and asked.
"I just had them say they were using Hayley Cole." Sophie Wilson replied with a squinty smile. "With their level, if Hayley Cole really wanted to hire them, she’d have to be able to afford that price. My version sounds much more reasonable, don’t you think?"
