Chapter 1074
Chapter 1074
Maybe, this is what they call a family bond."Rose makes a good point," said Mr. Lawrence, rarely joining the conversation.
Bella Green sat beside him, eating breakfast, occasionally putting some food she found tasty onto Mason’s plate.
Seeing Bella just eating without talking, Rose Lawrence suddenly smiled.
"Bella, look, your grandfather also thinks this way. You shouldn’t be in a hurry to find a boyfriend."
Bella swallowed her food, took a napkin, wiped her mouth, then looked up, smiling brightly at Rose.
"Are you suggesting, Aunt, that I should break up with Mason?"
Rose’s eyes flickered with a hint of avoidance, remaining silent, not expecting Bella to be so blunt.
Awkwardly, the woman smiled: "It’s for your own good, Aunt just wants what’s best for you. You’re the Green family’s eldest daughter, you shouldn’t casually find a boyfriend."
Amused, Bella took hold of Mason’s wrist, her smile chilly: "Do you think, finding a boyfriend like this one is a casual thing?"
No longer calling her Aunt.
Mason watched the girl standing up defiantly, a slight curve to his lips.
Simultaneously, his gaze at Rose Lawrence cooled a bit.
Rose, under Mason’s gaze, felt nothing but awkwardness.
Of course, someone like Mason Bennett is not easily found, even with a lantern you won’t find someone like him.
"Alright, what kind of words are you saying as an elder?" Mr. Lawrence’s face darkened as he used his cane to strike the floor, speaking in a low voice.
Startled, Rose lowered her head, saying nothing more.
"Bella, your Aunt is talking nonsense, don’t take it to heart," Mr. Lawrence said.
Bella was undisturbed, still smiling placidly, her gaze sweeping over the Lawrence family members before her.
"Of course, I won’t take it to heart. After all, what you say and think has nothing to do with me."
The girl’s sweet smile, however, her words were severing ties with the Lawrence family.
Mr. Lawrence furrowed his brows slightly, giving Rose a displeased look.
But towards Bella, he wasn’t sure what to say.
After all, the child had just returned, it’s inevitable she wouldn’t feel much affection for the family.
And at that age, rebellion is unavoidable.
What Rose just said was indeed too much.
Matthew Lawrence sat silently eating breakfast, eventually putting down his chopsticks.
"Little sister, Bella is my daughter, you don’t need to educate her."
Although the words were polite, they still made Rose instinctively stiffen her back.
She forced a smile, lowered her head, and spoke no more.
Inwardly sulking, she had only spoken a few words and was reproached like this, and still in front of the younger generation.
It seems Bella is truly challenging her.
...
After breakfast, Vivian Thornecroft and Brian Lawrence headed to the company.
Rose Lawrence went back to catch a nap.
Ariana was planning to go shopping with Anna Green, inviting Bella along.
But Bella glanced at Anna and declined.
Mr. Lawrence intended to have Bella keep him company.
But it was clear Bella didn’t seem close to them, so he didn’t insist, keeping Matthew company instead.
Bella and Mason didn’t stay at the Lawrence home either, heading out together.
Since she finally came to Kyoto, of course, she wanted to see Joanna Ramsey.
Though they had called since they last parted, she still felt uneasy.
She wanted to see if Joanna was doing well now.
After leaving the Green family home, Bella called Joanna, and they agreed on a location to meet.
