Super Soldier in the City

Chapter 2397 - 2461: Seeds

Chapter 2397 - 2461: Seeds

Li Yifei squatted down, watching the dozen or so massive great white sharks swimming on the sea floor more than ten meters deep, and saw many shadowy forms in the distance. The great white shark is large and consumes a lot of food, known for its ferocity, and in movies, it eats countless people. However, in reality, the incidents of great white sharks eating people are not many. But seeing so many great white sharks appear here at once still made Li Yifei slightly surprised, further proving the unusual nature of this sea area.

Li Yifei released his aura, controlling his presence within a range of more than ten meters, slowly advancing under the sea bed. The great white shark has poor vision but has a keen sense of smell; it can detect a drop of blood from kilometers away, naturally able to smell Li Yifei. These creatures swam around Li Yifei, showing bloodthirsty eyes but dared not approach because Li Yifei’s aura made them aware he was dangerous ’food’.

The sea surface gradually rose; Li Yifei expanded his sensing ability, feeling the situation dozens of meters away apart from the sharks.

A few minutes later, Li Yifei surprisingly discovered this was indeed a small island, and he inadvertently passed through the boundary of the formation method, which was an invisible film-like thing that his body easily penetrated, confirming this formation merely had a concealing effect.

Li Yifei had to float up a bit because beneath his feet were human bones, lots and lots of bones, some even bore bite marks, with schools of small fish among the bones searching for leftover food.

Seeing these bones left Li Yifei shocked: under this island, there were so many bones, and they were all human bones, numbering in the hundreds. What did these people want to do?

He swam aside a bit and discovered more than one pile of bones, with countless bones scattered everywhere, indicating that the island’s inhabitants killed numerous people, with the bodies thrown into the water, attracting so many great white sharks, even raising them as captive because these creatures occasionally received food and weren’t worried about having nothing to eat.

Li Yifei circled half the island and found three and a half piles of bones, along with no less than thirty great white sharks, only a few being small great white sharks. These sharks swam swiftly through the water; Li Yifei confirmed this island was isolated, standing over ten meters above sea level, and some places even had cliffs of twenty or thirty meters. Just when he wanted to find a place to climb ashore, he saw from a cliff two people in white coats and gas masks come out, carrying a person who they tossed down with a flick.

Landing not far from Li Yifei, he hurriedly swam over while the great white sharks also heard the splash, dashing like guns firing in a race, charging towards the food.

Li Yifei released his aura, blocking the sharks while grabbing the corpse thrown down, seeing the dead figure was miserably distorted as if experiencing an explosion, its appearance entire unrecognizable, limbs twisted. Li Yifei grimaced seeing its tragic state.

The person’s features had already become unrecognizable. Li Yifei probed with true qi, finding the body a complete mess, all internal organs ruptured, organs positioned differently from a normal person. Observing the lofty height, the person seemed much taller than usual humans, probably over two meters. The leg bones were also not normal. Li Yifei couldn’t observe further because something lunged from behind. He hurriedly contracted his form, feeling a sudden force in hand as a great white shark could bear no patience anymore, coming at him.

Faced with the allure of food, the sharks finally overcame their fear; once one charged forward, many others followed, quickly tearing the dead person’s flesh into pieces, making the ocean red instantly, with many chunks floating around, even some bold small fish came to fight for the meat.

Li Yifei backed off more than ten meters, looking at the feasting sharks, frowning; evidently, the island’s people were not merely present, but their deeds were incredibly evil; perhaps conducting human experiments.

That’s unbelievably wicked. Li Yifei found another pile of bones, landed upon them, and picked up several leg bones for comparison, finding these bones to be long such that they exceeded Li Yifei’s by about ten centimeters. Converted to height, these people were likely over two meters.

Nowadays, people over two meters aren’t uncommon, but if so many reached this height, it’s difficult to locate them all, as this isn’t the NBA, where not everyone is over two meters tall.

Li Yifei dearly wished to investigate, so after circling the island, discovering there were neither downward paths nor piers, wondered how the islanders traveled. Just as pondering, he saw a helicopter suddenly appear in the sky, continually descending and hovering twice before landing on the island.

It’s a helicopter. Li Yifei understood how the islanders traveled now, adhering to the rock wall, started climbing, as though steep and slippery, it wasn’t a big deal for Li Yifei, about to reach the top when several voices were heard. He did not understand the language, so quickly switched on his portable communication device, enabling the recording function, capturing the voices. Just when Li Yifei was about to climb up, footsteps approached, and a head poked out from above, suspiciously saying, "Why do I feel there’s someone down below?"

"Randolf, you’re just paranoid; how could anyone be here?" another voice spoke; these two people talked in English, so Li Yifei understood them. The one called Randolf stood above him, while Li Yifei hung upside down like a bat on the rock cliff’s negative angle.

Randolf replied, "Impossible, my nose is sharp, I smelled a stranger’s scent."

Li Yifei immediately restrained his breath, hearing Randolf sniffing again and saying, "Seems the scent is gone’s!"

"Must’ve been a passing boat; don’t be paranoid: our island is impenetrable, any vessel nearing gets spotted immediately. Oh, you see, even yachts a few nautical miles away are visible; oh, some blonde beauty, too bad with clothes, otherwise we might have had some eye candy!"

A blonde beauty a few nautical miles away? That must be the Saintess, Li Yifei noted this voice, swearing inside, daring to molest my woman; when I climb ashore, I’ll certainly settle you.

"Talk business now." Randolf walked back, telling that person, "The captain urged us to hasten the R&D progress, needing the third-generation agent by next year, so I instruct you to capture as many seeds as possible for our experiments!"

"Seeds... there are plenty, no worries about that, the Middle East being so chaotic, we can get as many seeds as desired; only thing... I worry your R&D can’t catch up, producing next year’s agent seems incredibly difficult."

"That’s not your concern; I’ll ensure overtime, working tirelessly, but you must double the seeds!"

"Alright, seeds are no worry, captured over two hundred this batch!"

"Even a thousand would work, a thousand each month speeds up trials!" Randolf stated.

"A thousand? Randolf, you’re pushing it; capturing a thousand seeds monthly, even if possible, transportation poses a significant issue, the Turkish Government isn’t laissez-faire!" the person exaggerated.

When Li Yifei heard seeds, hundreds to thousands, instinctively glanced down; countless bones lay beneath the turbulent sea, likely those seeds mentioned.

Using humans as seeds for experiments... left Li Yifei unsure how to express it. If not for fear of alerting them, he’d already rushed up to end those two’s lives.

Following this switch to a language Li Yifei didn’t understand, they chatted further; Li Yifei recorded the entire conversation, waited till they left, and plunged into the sea again.

Having gathered firsthand information, and heard the mention of the captain, could infer a link to Noah’s Ark. The captain seemed Noah’s Ark Organization’s leader.

Of course, this remained speculation, lacking proof, everything not set in stone yet.

Upon plunging into the sea, saw the great white sharks disband; they had evidently devoured the corpse completely.

Truly vile, using humans to breed sharks!

Slowly swimming back under the sea bed, taking more than ten minutes until Li Yifei surfaced, greeted by the Saintess reaching out from the deck, which he grasped, boarding the yacht, saying, "Let’s leave first!"

"Okay. But how went the investigation?" the Saintess asked, starting the yacht.

"Pretty sure Noah’s Ark Organization has a base here; however... these people are exceedingly vile!" Li Yifei answered.

The Saintess turned, asking Li Yifei, "What’s the specific situation?"

Li Yifei opened the fridge, took a can of coke, playing the recording for the Saintess.

"That’s Italian, pronounced oddly, but easy to guess." The Saintess listened, translating part of Li Yifei, changing when English was heard, her expression shifted for knowing well what seeds meant.

"These people ought to die! Treating human lives indifferent!" the Saintess gritted teeth saying.
