Chapter 1171: Why Aren’t You Crying Anymore?
Chapter 1171: Why Aren’t You Crying Anymore?
She couldn’t understand why Yan Yan was so angry; she thought what she said was right, even if somewhat excessive.
Yan Yan, however, saw through her thoughts instantly and said, "Fan Yubing, I didn’t act before because of the longstanding relationship between our two families, and for Fan Xinglan’s sake."
He meant that he had wanted to act against her when she almost killed Yun Qiqi last time.
Fan Yubing’s face turned slightly pale.
Yan Yan continued, "I don’t care what intentions you have towards me, but you better put them away. I don’t want to hear anymore about you trying to sow discord in my relationship with Little Gua."
He spoke these extra words partly to satisfy the drama-loving little one he was hugging, and also because of their years of acquaintance.
If it were any other woman, Yan Yan probably wouldn’t say a word and might secretly eliminate her with just a flick of his finger.
Fan Yubing had the backing of the Fan Family, whose relationship with him involved cooperation and years of affection, so Yan Yan was giving the Fan Family sufficient face.
Yet he was often quite indifferent, and if she continued to act recklessly, in Yan Yan’s eyes, whatever affection and cooperation they had would cease to exist.
But at this moment, Fan Yubing couldn’t hear anything.
That sentence, ’I don’t care what intentions you have towards me, but you better put them away,’ was enough to blow her away into oblivion in an instant.
The world collapsed; she felt as if she had been stripped naked and thrown onto the street, with all her thoughts exposed.
She looked at Yan Yan with a stunned gaze and finally realized, "So, it turns out you knew all along..."
He had seen through her affection for him long ago.
Maybe two years ago, or maybe even earlier, but he had never exposed it, never even cared.
She felt that her cautious hiding had become a laughingstock.
Yan Yan didn’t care at all, he even disregarded her sincere affection as if discarding worn-out shoes.
His eyes clearly drew a line of separation from hers.
His bottom line was Yun Qiqi; he only had eyes for Yun Qiqi, as if as long as she didn’t touch his bottom line, to him she was merely a stranger, not worth even a second glance...
Looking at the two people embracing on the bed, Fan Yubing for the first time felt such embarrassment and worthlessness.
Especially under Yun Qiqi’s gaze, she felt like a ridiculous failure.
Fan Yubing couldn’t bear such a gaze.
"I... I just wanted to see you, I didn’t expect this to happen..." She hurriedly put the items on the table, lowered her head, and said, "This is the soup I made for you, I’ll be going now."
She left the ward in a nearly panicked escape.
Yun Qiqi watched her leaving figure for a long time before snapping back to reality, still feeling a little unfulfilled.
"Why did you send her away so quickly? I wasn’t done watching."
Yan Yan looked down at the young girl in his arms, raised an eyebrow, and his voice carried a hint of teasing: "What, no more tears?"
Yun Qiqi’s small face stiffened slightly: "..."
Feeling a bit guilty, she shrank her head and quietly shifted her gaze to the side.
"Don’t cry so miserably next time."
Even though he knew it was an act, seeing it still made him feel a bit distressed.
Yan Yan didn’t know when he started having this problem.
In the past, whenever anyone cried heart-wrenchingly in front of him, his heart remained unmoved. Yet now, with this little one, even knowing it was feigned, he finds his chest feeling stifled.
Yun Qiqi stuck out her tongue, glancing in the direction Fan Yubing had just left.
