Chapter 290 - 260: Elf Queen (Part 2)
Chapter 290 - 260: Elf Queen (Part 2)
"I don’t understand the customs of the Divine Realm, but in the Elf Kingdom, there are strict boundaries between men and women. I hope Lord Lynn can be mindful... However, if Lord Lynn truly fancies someone and wishes to take her home formally, instead of just playing around, then Lord Lynn can socialize freely in the Elf Kingdom. As long as there is no coercion, no elves will interfere."
Facing Lynn, the Elf Queen, who was also his sister-in-law, reminded him and then generously explained the Elf Race’s unique attitude toward him.
As long as there’s no forcing or abandonment after beginning, the Elf Race doesn’t limit his activities in the Elf Kingdom. The custom of monogamy doesn’t apply to him. If he has the ability to win the hearts of many Elf Race maidens, then he can do as he pleases.
"There’s no need to emphasize these things right away. I’ve come to the Elf Kingdom to pick up Xiya, not to seek romance. I might leave today or tomorrow and won’t stay long. Moreover, most Elf Race maidens are rather aloof. I don’t have the skill to whisk away a bunch of you in a blink..."
Due to his reputation, Lynn didn’t blame the Elf Queen for speaking awkwardly upon first meeting. After all, this reputation was earned through his own wives, and others couldn’t be blamed.
Truthfully, the Elf Queen was already very polite to him, fully open with her intelligence without holding back. If he didn’t have Xiya, he might indeed have thoughts of such a broad-minded elf sister.
"Alright, I’ve already seen Xiya. No need to trouble you, Queen. I’ll formally visit you later. Now, I want to reunite with my wife."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lynn took Natasha, who had an odd smile on her face, toward Xiya among the elves. Along the way, every beautiful elf they encountered proactively made way for them, watching as they passed by.
As Lynn moved closer, Xiya’s face bloomed with a radiant smile while the sour-faced maiden beside her was already somewhat dazzled.
Lord Lynn is even more handsome than in the portraits!
Too bad he’s Xiya’s husband, not mine...
"Beautiful lady, may I invite you for a walk?"
Standing in front of Xiya, Lynn extended his other hand toward her, inviting her for a stroll.
If the Elf Royal City has meat supplies, they could also have breakfast together. If not, he could share some fish jerky meant for pets with Natasha, ensuring the carnivore wouldn’t have to munch on grass.
"It would be an honor."
Seeing Lynn offer his hand, Xiya smiled and placed her small hand onto his, immediately securing it.
"Today’s the day for announcing the selection results. Don’t stay out too late."
At this moment, a nearby young girl with verdant skin sternly reminded Xiya, emphasizing the importance of the Goddess’s Saintess selection. She had no desire for any candidate to be absent during the result announcement, as it would be disrespectful to the Goddess.
"Don’t worry, we won’t go far."
Xiya turned back to the Druid girl beside her with a sincere smile.
Meanwhile, Lynn sneaked a glance at a young Druid maiden wrapped in leaves, her exposed skin resembling fresh tree bark, her face a blend of beast and plant features. Frankly, she didn’t suit his aesthetic, but he respected her.
However, the short, adorable girl beside her hit his "cute point" perfectly, looking quite pleasing to his eye.
Why is there a young Human girl in this Elf Royal Palace? Participating in the Saintess selection is expected, as having a Druid among candidates of the Goddess of Nature and Life isn’t uncommon, but it’s rare for a Human to be involved.
Considering Humans mostly believe in the Light God King, it’s not that they don’t believe in other deities. Yet, the Goddess of Nature and Life is practically exclusive to the Elf and Druid races, with few Humans worshiping her due to her requirement that believers must revere nature and life.
Being omnivorous, Humans find it difficult to meet those demands consistently; while they can manage temporarily, maintaining such practices long-term is quite taxing.
"Let’s go. I’ll show you around the Elf Royal City. Besides your favorite beauties, there’s plenty worth seeing here."
As Xiya led Lynn and Natasha out of the group, they left the palace under everyone’s gaze.
Initially, the Elf Queen intended a grand reception for the Elf Race’s grand benefactor, showcasing their enthusiasm. However, after a brief exchange, he departed without lingering.
What Elf Race enthusiasm can be displayed by Xiya alone?
Are the rumors about Lord Lynn true or false?
From his demeanor, he doesn’t seem like the indulgent flirt rumored, except for slightly touching the Queen. He barely glanced at other elves.
Or is it that he only likes Xiya’s type, hence his brief interest in the Queen, who somewhat resembles Xiya?
Regardless of the palace elves’ thoughts, Lynn was now on the streets of the Elf Royal City.
The Elf Royal City, the kingdom’s only city and sole point of external contact, boasts architectural diversity.
Predominantly featuring Human architecture, the city also presents styles from races like Dwarves, Goblins, Giant Dragons, and Beastmen, yet nothing reflects the Elf Race’s own style.
Elf race architecture is non-existent as ancient elves didn’t build cities or construct homes, living instead in boundless forests with tree hollows serving as shelters and dewdrops, flowers, and grass as food.
Despite evolving beyond a small fringe race, inherited ancient habits persist, as most elves still reside in tree hollows. Only a few accompany the Elf King in settling within the city, residing in houses and palaces.
Strolling through the wide, clean streets of the Elf Royal City, Xiya led Lynn and Natasha to a small open-air restaurant.
The restaurant’s owner and chef were elves, seemingly a small couple-run business since only two elves were busy.
"Same as usual, Sister Aman, but with two portions and a cup of sprite dew."
Xiya appeared to be a frequent visitor, ordering the usual without checking a menu. Bringing Lynn and Natasha, she only ordered an extra portion for Lynn, while Natasha would just have water, as she doesn’t eat much salad.
"This must be Lord Lynn? The Savior sent by the gods indeed has a regal aura, and his looks suit you, Xiya."
Elf cuisine seemed simple enough for the chef to chat with Xiya while cooking.
Being elves living outside the palace, they didn’t know Lynn was in the Elf Royal City. Seeing him closely with Xiya, the legend of the Miracle Saint Emperor, World-saving Hero, was surely true.
"Yes, he finally managed to visit the Elf Kingdom, so I had to bring him here. Sister Aman’s cooking surpasses palace chefs, and I wanted Lynn to try traditional elf dishes, lest he continues teasing that I only eat greens."
Xiya was on familiar terms with the restaurant owner, speaking openly as Lynn wasn’t treated as a VIP, especially since Lynn often teased her about her constant grass diet.
Under Lynn’s care, Xiya’s tried some meat, yet elves’ distaste for meat isn’t just a matter of respecting life—it’s due to longstanding dietary habits that words can’t easily change.
There are elves accustomed to meat, albeit rarely since such oddities are considered less devoted to the Goddess. This is true as elf non-believers frequently have differing habits.
